Where is Hanoi Station? Train to Sapa? Hue? HCMC?

In Hanoi, there are several stations but the most used is the Hanoi station (ex-Hang Co).

Address: 120 Duan Street, 1.5km from downtown Hanoi.

The train is a good way to travel to Vietnam. To find out more: traveling by train in Vietnam

Trains to Central and South

All trains to central and southern Vietnam leave at Hanoi station: train to Hue, train to Dong Hoi, train to Da Nang, train to Saigon ….

It is the station A, located in the The Duan street

Trains to Lao Cai (to Sapa)

The trains for Lao Cai also leave at this station, but on the other side: B station in Tran Quy Cap street.

This is Station B, located on Tran Quy Cap Street.

Yes, the Hanoi station has 2 entrances: A station and B station in two streets but normally you can not go directly from A station to B station and vice versa.

That’s why if you take the train to Lao Cai, go to Tran Quy Cap street.

Important remarks:

Except holidays and weekend (thirtieth of April, first of May, second of September, Tet holiday…), you can buy tickets on the spot, at the station

Be careful if someone wants to help you (leave your luggage on his cart …), maybe he’ll ask you for money after

Be careful with pickpockets

From the old quarter, it is easy to walk to the train station, otherwise the taxi costs 2-3 USD maximum.

Outside the train, you can also travel to Vietnam by bus
